Designed by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA), this is a beginning ice skating program that is fun, challenging and rewarding. Students are encouraged to bring their own skates, or skate rentals are available for $3 per rental. Single blades required for all skaters. Helmets recommended, especially for young skaters. Classes held at Red Baron Arena & Expo.
Pre-Free Skate- Free Skate 6: The free skating section introduces skaters to a variety of advanced elements - stroking, footwork, edges, turns, jumps and spins. Each element is designed to use the qualities of edge, power, flexibility and extension and will be done in combinations or sequences.
The annual spring ice show will be March 2, 2024 with performances at 1:30 and 7:00 p.m. Any skater in Basic 2 or higher must sign up for BOTH Fall and Spring Learn-to-Skate sessions to participate in the show. If you have any questions about the ice show, please call Jodi Schreurs at 507-829-1606. Practices begin in February, with practice information distributed during lessons in January. Ice Show registrations for Basic 1 and Preschool will be taken in January 2024.
